Apple Pay inhibit competition, according Australians

Apple Pay is part of serious challenges in Australia, three of the largest banks in the country by submitting a common complaint to the Competition Commission in the idea of forcing Apple to attend a series of talks on how to install systems third payment mobile directly from your iPhone.

National Australia Bank (NAB), Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Westpac Banking Corp are the three banks in question, an accounting of all three saying journalists that restrictions imposed by Apple Wallet app on the installation of third-party solutions for mobile payments represent behavior anticompetitive.

Through this application, the three banks intend to ask the authorities to oblige Apple to enter into negotiations on the ability to install third-party software for mobile payments in the Wallet app, the Apple restricting access to force users to use only Apple Pay off own terminals.

Apple Pay is a thorn in Australian banks

Basically, banks will compel Apple to allow them to use the chip NFC in the iPhone because their applications can make mobile payments, but this will not happen, because Apple does not have the intention of opening access to this NFC chip to promote the third mobile payments systems.

Our wish is that Australians have the right to choose which system you want to use mobile payments. If our complaint is successful, it will bring enormous benefits to the Australian mobile payments, including payment schemes for public transportation, airline tickets, store loyalty programs and more to be developed.

The truth is that the way Apple restricts access to this NFC chip inhibit the growth of competing products, but those of Cupertino have thought strategy in precisely this sense and since until now access to this system has not yet been facilitated unlikely Apple to open it anytime soon.

The reality is that banks in Australia are unlikely to be pleased that Apple comes as a middleman for customers and charge for mobile payments made by users, their aim being to try to eliminate Apple Pay and never pay money to Apple .

In iOS 10 Apple implemented a different way to unlock the iDevice’s, effectively eliminating the slide to unlock new system imposing pressing Home to make unlocking the lock screen, that though normally a simple press of the Home button does this action automatically for us.

Because many people complained because of this change, Apple has implemented a feature called Rest Finger to unlock, being available since iOS 10 beta 2, but currently down its activation allowing unlock iDevice sites with Touch ID by simply pushing ring that surrounds the Home button.

To strengthen the safety of users, Apple offers the option to block access to data from LockScreen for Siri, or other applications, this system is useful for those who fear their terminals could be stolen and the thieves could access photos, or other data important stored in their terminals.

In iOS 10 have the option to facilitate access these applications from data simply by pressing the Touch ID in LockScreen terminals unlocking it without entering the main screen applications, and on top you will not see a padlock, but a text which displays the word unlocked, suggesting that the terminals were unlocked.

This system will be necessary for a lot of people who will want to take full advantage of iOS widgets 10, so you need to familiarize yourself with it even now, if you have this operating system installed.

How does iPhone 5C fares in comparison to iPhone 5

After Apple announced their new alternative and cheaper smartphone, iPhone 5C, one must wonder what the differences between iPhone 5C and iPhone 5 are.  First off, the iPhone 5C is cheaper the iPhone 5: in UK, for an iPhone 5 with 16GB you would have to pay 529£, for 32GB 599£ and for 64GB 699£, while for an iPhone 5c with 16GB only 469£ and for one with 32GB 549£. You also need to consider that the new iPhone 5c will be available for pre-order from 13 September and for sale from 20 September, same date as for iPhone 5S.

Design

The most distinct feature of the iPhone 5C is that, unlike the iPhone 5, it has a polycarbonate plastic casing and as a consequence it is a little bigger and a little heavier: a little over a millimeter thicker and 20 grams heavier, although the dimensions remain the same: 59×124 mm. The casing comes in five colors: white, red, blue, yellow and green.

Screen

Here we encounter no difference between iPhone5 and iPhone 5C:  Apple decided to keep the same Retina display for the new smartphone. In this case we would enjoy the same 4 inches of display, with a resolution of 640×1136 and 326 ppi.

Processor

In this category the new iPhone 5C is equal to the iPhone 5: they both share the same A6 chip.

Storage

Over the years Apple has provided the iPhone with three storage options: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, but the new iPhone 5C has only two: 16GB and 32GB, and, as usual, there is no option for a microSD card slot, in case you want to add more storage space.

Cameras

This is a category where the iPhone 5C has the upper hand. Although they both share the same 8Mp iSight camera and the fact that there is a new camera app that adds Instagram style filters and other various features, app that will be available for iPhone 5 through an update to iOS 7, the front facing camera has been improved on the iPhone 5C. In this sense there are larger pixels and a better performance in low-light situations due to the improvements on the backside illumination sensor.

Connectivity and 4G Support

In this segment the two are mostly the same. The iPhone 5C is equipped with the Lightning connector, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.  Apple suggested that a key difference will be the support for more 4G LTE frequency bands and also that the new smartphone will be compatible with the EE and Vodafone networks in the UK. Not to worry though, O2 stated that iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will be compatible with their network. In the same aspect, three will be using the same 800MHZ frequency as O2, after it will launch its 4G.

Software

In this section we find no difference between iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C: they both come with the same iOS 7 pre-installed, although the iPhone 5 will have the latest operatiiphone-5-vs-iphone-5cng system update before iPhone 5C comes out.

Battery

The fact that the iPhone 5C is 20 grams heavier is due to the fact that Apple provided this smartphone with a slightly larger battery then the iPhone 5. As a consequence we receive a boost in battery life, consisting in an extra two hours of talk time and browsing over 4G LTE, plus an extra of 25 hours on standby.
