How does iPhone 5C fares in comparison to iPhone 5

After Apple announced their new alternative and cheaper smartphone, iPhone 5C, one must wonder what the differences between iPhone 5C and iPhone 5 are.  First off, the iPhone 5C is cheaper the iPhone 5: in UK, for an iPhone 5 with 16GB you would have to pay 529£, for 32GB 599£ and for 64GB 699£, while for an iPhone 5c with 16GB only 469£ and for one with 32GB 549£. You also need to consider that the new iPhone 5c will be available for pre-order from 13 September and for sale from 20 September, same date as for iPhone 5S.

Design

The most distinct feature of the iPhone 5C is that, unlike the iPhone 5, it has a polycarbonate plastic casing and as a consequence it is a little bigger and a little heavier: a little over a millimeter thicker and 20 grams heavier, although the dimensions remain the same: 59×124 mm. The casing comes in five colors: white, red, blue, yellow and green.

Screen

Here we encounter no difference between iPhone5 and iPhone 5C:  Apple decided to keep the same Retina display for the new smartphone. In this case we would enjoy the same 4 inches of display, with a resolution of 640×1136 and 326 ppi.

Processor

In this category the new iPhone 5C is equal to the iPhone 5: they both share the same A6 chip.

Storage

Over the years Apple has provided the iPhone with three storage options: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, but the new iPhone 5C has only two: 16GB and 32GB, and, as usual, there is no option for a microSD card slot, in case you want to add more storage space.

Cameras

This is a category where the iPhone 5C has the upper hand. Although they both share the same 8Mp iSight camera and the fact that there is a new camera app that adds Instagram style filters and other various features, app that will be available for iPhone 5 through an update to iOS 7, the front facing camera has been improved on the iPhone 5C. In this sense there are larger pixels and a better performance in low-light situations due to the improvements on the backside illumination sensor.

Connectivity and 4G Support

In this segment the two are mostly the same. The iPhone 5C is equipped with the Lightning connector, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.  Apple suggested that a key difference will be the support for more 4G LTE frequency bands and also that the new smartphone will be compatible with the EE and Vodafone networks in the UK. Not to worry though, O2 stated that iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will be compatible with their network. In the same aspect, three will be using the same 800MHZ frequency as O2, after it will launch its 4G.

Software

In this section we find no difference between iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C: they both come with the same iOS 7 pre-installed, although the iPhone 5 will have the latest operatiiphone-5-vs-iphone-5cng system update before iPhone 5C comes out.

Battery

The fact that the iPhone 5C is 20 grams heavier is due to the fact that Apple provided this smartphone with a slightly larger battery then the iPhone 5. As a consequence we receive a boost in battery life, consisting in an extra two hours of talk time and browsing over 4G LTE, plus an extra of 25 hours on standby.

A new multi-tasker in town Reminisce

From my point of view a device without a multi-tasking capability is useless. In an age where speed is the foundation multi-tasking is a must. No matter if we talk about processing but also multi-tasking between apps is also a must. But sometimes the implementation of such a function can be a fail. So today because of this I am going to present you a tweak that will help you multi-task between apps with great ease. Found in the BigBoss repo for $1.99 maybe you are wondering what it does to justify that price.

Well Reminisce functions right away after installation. What is the activation method you may ask. You just simply swipe from a designated side of your screen which you can set in settings section. By default the activation method is from right side of you iPhone. After activation you will get a horizontal bar right in the area where the activation was made. There you will find just like in task switcher all the active apps.

reminisce

The settings of this tweak are quite stuffed. You can change the animation and the behavior of this tweak even the appearance. In Animation section you will find settings that will help you customize how the tasking bar will appear, how icons will react when you glide over them and many more. In Behavior you will find settings like how to activate this tweak by swiping from left side or right side of the screen to opposite side. Here you can also find rules where this tweak should not be activate, for example games that require touch screen gestures. In Appearance you will find settings that will help you change the menu color, background color, blurring and many more.

As you can see there are a lot of things that you can find in this tweak.
